BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The PPTA objective was to develop a road sector investment program for Uzbekistan to be supported via ADB's multitranche financing facility (MFF) for the total 600 million USD. The proposed investment program will form the necessary continuity to the ongoing project (ADB Loan 2403-UZB) by reconstructing a total of 222 km of the A-380 to 4 lanes between Guzar – Bukhara – Nukus – Beyneu (Uzbekistan/Kazakhstan border), financing a 200 m 4-lane pilot demonstration project for asphalt-concrete (100 m) and cement concrete (100 m) pavements. The TA activities are divided into two categories: (i) formulation of an investment program to be supported under the MFF, with related information such as the sector road map, strategy context, and policy framework, and (ii) preparation of feasibility study, related due diligence and preliminary designs for project components of all sub-projects under the MFF, including assisting the EA in obtaining appropriate Government and ADB approvals for the feasibility study, and assisting the EA on procurement of civil works, consultancy services and others under the MFF.
